Listing states; For sale is my 1976 Ford mk2 Escort, which I have owned for 20 years. I bought the car as a standard 1300L model in 2004. The list of panels replaced at the time are as follows: Front wings and slam panel, inner and outer sills, inner and outer rear arches, front passenger floor pan section. The shell was then painted inside and out in 2k Ford Olympic Blue (Original colour).
The car currently has the original glass windscreen, which i refitted with a new seal. All other windows are Polycarbonate. I do still have the complete original glass, seals and window regulators which can go with the car.
I have run the car at Santa Pod. 1/4 mile time is 11.6 seconds.
YB Cosworth Engine Spec:
205 Block
RS2000 alloy engine mounts
High pressure oil pump
Genuine original Ford RS2000 alloy baffled sump
Original Ford forged Cosworth YB lightened & balanced crankshaft, original Ford YB Cosworth conrods which have been lightened polished and then shot peened, fitted with ARP bolts.
Lightened flywheel to accept a Ford Pinto clutch and starter motor. Fitted with ARP bolts
High torque starter motor
Forged Accralite 93mm pistons, giving 2090cc capacity.
Cometic multi layer steel shim head gasket
ARP cylinder head stud and nut kit fitted
Cylinder head ported by Cylinder Head Developments to ‘normally aspirated spec’, with inlet manifold ported to match.
Stainless steel std size valves, with new guides fitted and machined down to suit high lift cams
Kent Cams double valve springs with Titanium retainers. Head has been machined to give correct fitted spring length
Turbo Sport solid camshaft followers
Kent Cams adjustable camshaft pulleys
Toothed auxillary belt kit. Modified to accept trigger wheel for ECU

Weber twin 48 DCO SP carburettors. With throttle position sensor connected to ECU.

Transmission:
AP racing sprint clutch plate and cover plate
Alloy RS2000 spec bellhousing, threaded to make the gearbox quick release. Genuine RS2000 clutch release arm
Ford RS2000 Type E 4 speed gearbox (recently inspected and rebuilt). With Quaife alloy maincase (saves 4kg), and Quaife HD steel operating block (standard part is a common failure point)

Single piece propshaft (bought brand new)
Original rear English axle casing, shortened 1 inch each end (allowing slick and semi slick tyres to be fitted)
3J NXG limited slip differential with 16 tooth sidegears, 3.89:1 original Ford crownwheel and pinion. Recent inspection carried out, with brand new cross pins just fitted.
3J Atlas spec 16 tooth 2 piece halfshafts
Brakes:
Bias adjustable pedal box, with Willwood front and rear master cylinders. Cable clutch
Stainless steel braided flexible brake lines
Willwood 4 pot front brake calipers
Sierra rear discs and calipers with fully operational handbrake. Fitted with Staubli dry breaks for easy rear caliper removal.

Capri 2.8i Bilstein front struts, with adjustable height 2.25inch coilover conversion. 180lbs springs fitted
Aluminium adjustable (camber/castor) front spherical bearing top mounts
Standard front roll bar
Capri rear single leaf springs with poly bushes fitted
Avo adjustable rear dampers

Headlights accept the much better H4 bulb, over the original sealed units.

Composite bucket seats, with multi point OMP harnesses
No heater system fitted
No washer bottle fitted (I still have the original washer bottle with pump)
The inner front panel has been modified and cut away to give increased airflow to the engine bay. (Not evident from outside)
Brand new door seals just fitted
13 x 7 Superlite wheels. Could do with a refurb to bring them up to mint condition
Yokohama A539 175/50 R13 tyres with plenty of tread left.
The bodywork is in great condition. There are some small areas where the rust is starting to come through: bootlid, drivers door, drivers footwell. Plus there are some small dents, chips and scratches as expected with a classic car of this age. The inside of the roof has some rust showing through, but this is not evident from the outside.
