The Special Ones… Chris Beachim’s Ford Escort RS Turbo S2

The first time we saw Chris Beachim’s Ford Escort RS Turbo S2 track car it stopped us in out tracks…

This thing is an absolute beast. Not only does it look the part, it’s also got all the right bits too! Power is derived from a 2.0 MK1 Focus RS block with steel rods, T04b turbo and AEM management giving 350 bhp at 1.8 bar.

A three-inch Mongoose system gives a lovely exhaust note whilst braking is taken care of with AP fronts and Willwood rears. The car has Leda suspension all round and is fully rose jointed. Internally there is a Custom Cages weld in cage, Recaro Profi SPG seats and externally there’s plenty of Carbon Delight goodies which add to the aesthetic including fuel cap, door handles, number plate light, splitter & mirror bases and gold 17-inch” Raceline RL7’s complete the look, and what a look it is!

Chris has had the car for about eleven years, and about seven years back decided to go all-in on a project which took about three years to complete… all good things come to those who wait.
