New Repro Lombard RAC Rally T Shirts – When Was Your First Trip To Watch The RAC Rally?
These new repro Lombard RAC Rally T Shirt’s caught our eye whilst surfing eBay for the best classic Fords to bring to you on our daily web listings, which got us all talking in the office about our first forays on the RAC!
Let’s face it, there was nothing quite like it. You could either pick a nice sedate Sunday Special Stage for a gentle lollop around a stately pile, or you could go full-on-feral living out of your car for days on end whilst following the rally around the UK… one minute you’re somewhere up a Welsh mountain trying to find the best hairpin to spectate on and the next minute you’re getting spattered by gravel in the middle of Kielder!
Personally, my first outing was with a friend and his dad when we were kids on the 1981 Lombard RAC Rally, spectating at Oulton Park. I remember it like it was yesterday, and although I did not know it at the time, that year was the changing of the guard as the MK2 Escort RS1800’s made way for the all-conquering Audi Quattro…
To be honest, we could fill a book on our RAC Rally exploits over the years… maybe we should! Anyway, in the meantime we might just bag ourself one of these cool T shirts, a nice reminder of yesteryear!
