“Here for sale is my 1969 Ford Escort rolling shell. I bought this as a 17 year old in 2004 and nearly 20 years later I’m no closer to finishing it (or starting it for that matter). I’ve taken the difficult decision to move it on to someone who will hopefully get it running before the petrol runs out!

The spec as far as I can remember it is as follows:

Early 1969 2 door Mk1 escort shell. Date of first registration 28/05/1969.
Framed fibreglass bonnet and boot.
Glass front window – plastic for the rest.
Mexico steel front wings.
Double width kit.
World Cup cross member.
Quick rack.
Weld in strut brace.
Big transmission tunnel.
Wiper motor/linkage.
Rose jointed front arms.
Front coil overs.
ATE 2 pot front callipers on vented discs.
7 x 13 superlites which have had the back of the spokes ground away slightly to clear the callipers.
6 point bolt in roll cage with additional mounting points.
Fabricated rear bulkhead.
Rear converted to upright turrets.
Blistein rear dampers.
Single leaf springs with lowering blocks.
Astra 16v rear disc conversion.
English rear axle casing with HD half shafts.
Rear lights are just lenses.”
