Has There Ever Been A Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 3 Door Police Car?

Whilst trawling the internet to bring you all the best classic Ford listings we came across this little puppy on one of our many searches… and it stopped us in our tracks!

It’s a cool little 3 Door Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth made by Hot Wheels, but what obviously caught our eye was the fact the seller had custom-modified the car and turned it into a rather cool looking Police car, which immediately got us thinking – has there ever been a real 3 Door Ford Sierra Cosworth Police car??

Our immediate thought was no, purely based on most of the images of cool fast-Ford  Police traffic cars we’ve seen over the years. Escort Cosworth’s, yes and Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth’s yes… but a 3 Door? Hmmm…

Padding it out a bit we then stretched it to unmarked Police cars? We tried to rack our brains if we’d ever seen one on the many Police Interceptor type programs from back in the day. After much thought and google searching we drew a blank, but if you’ve ever heard of one or seen one then do let us know!

Safe to say this post went down well on our Facebook page with some great input. Whilst we have still not turned up anything conclusive in the UK, it would appear the French Gendarmerie used a 3 door Sierra RS Cosworth Police car.
