Man Cave – Custom Built 1/18 Scale MK2 Ford Escort RS2000

Another stunning build from our friends over at Bartons Bodyworks… this epic 1/18 Scale MK2 Ford Escort RS2000 has been custom made from a flat front standard Model Icons Police car and you cane even choose which wheels you want to go on it!! The detail and quality of work is incredible but comes as standard from Barton stable as he is a professional panel beater and sprayer by trade, not to mention classic Ford owner, and has been modeling for 30 years!

Listing info… Never been on display, stripped of every part. Flat front hacked off.  Made up my own nosecone, fitted and filled as I would a real car, wing and cone seam added, bonnet flattened and a Rs bulge added and filled. All nice and straight with nice gaps. Unlike Michamps the bonnet opens easily! Back bumper corners made then heavy primed and painted in a real car spray booth, with real car ? authentic, Ford Bright deep red base, Rs stripes painfully applied ( unlike Minichamps, the right way up ?) Then layers of a really high gloss clearcoat baked on, looks gorgeous!

Not to be confused with the poor model manufactures dust over,thin airbrushed or aerosol rubbish.You can rest assured my paint won’t fade or flake off. This is the real deal.

INTERIOR: Fully stripped race style! No back seats, added a nice quality pair of race Front seats, 1/2 roll cage with diagonal, RS badged 3spoke steering wheel. Superb period correct details through out, Floor pan plastic primed and sprayed gunmetal grey high gloss clear throughout. Full boot install also sprayed gunmetal floor, grp4 fuel tank and filler, oil tank and Battery also in the boot under the texture RS Sunstar boot spoiler!

EXTERIOR: Moulded my own Nosecone at last…..Made up a Rs bonnet to suit, deep bright red, RS stripe kit , , added quality FORD OVAL badge , boot and 1/4s script , high gloss topcoat with black detailing, added a realistic vynal roof with the correct seams, all sprayed black. scratch built 1/4 corner bumpers. Genuine Sunstar textured boot spoiler, Added headlights and indicators, finished off with a pair of uk age related “plates??

ENGINE….Fast road spec 20L BDA zetec looking twin cam, big bore manifold, Twin 40s, real alloy polished trumpets, sprayed gunmetal cam cover, added leads, exposed cambelt and pulleys , fully detailed..Real highly polished alloy back box……Look at it long enough your hear it bark ???

WHEELS…Slammed over a set of RS4 spokes, with real rubber tyres, “ REAL HIGHLY POLISHED ALLOY” 13” style RS Center badges on the black but not the gold.

OPTIONS; Gold or Black centres as in pics. One set of wheels not both. You choose at end of auction.
