1988 Ford Escort RS Turbo S2 With 2 Previous Owners…

First of all, please do not compare this car to others that have been restored. This is a original car as built by the Factory, not altered or welded etc.bSupplied by the Ford dealer in London to its first owner, a women , who returned it after 3 months due to the lack of Power Steering. One of the senior Mechanics at the dealer then bought it and kept it for 28 years, treating it with care , never using it in the rain, snow or ice , therefore no salt either on the chassis . He serviced the car himself only ever using Ford Parts and kept a detailed log of the work, date and milage which we have. The Escort was only used to go from London to his holiday home in Wales many times a year after which, on his return, it would be washed, polished and covered up in a heated, carpeted garage.

Via my Brother who drinks with the guy in there local pub at the weekends, i was asked if i wanted to buy it aprox 8 years ago in 2015.
We were working in London at the time so went to look on the Monday night, the deal was done and we collected on the Wednesday lunchtime. He made me promise to garage it every night and not use it during the winter which we were happy to do.
Before we picked it up he serviced it , fitted a genuine Ford exhaust system front to back and changed the timing belt at no cost to us .
He cried when he handed the keys over . Since then we have used it very little but kept it clean and covered up , Mots and servicing even though we were doing little milage. The time has come for someone else to enjoy it…
