1974 Ford Escort Mk1 GP4 Rally Car
Ford Escort Mk1 Rally Car. A nice car with some hi-spec parts and modern upgrades, but could easily be put back to historic spec and get MSUK or FIA historic papers. Does need a little tidying and cosmetically not a concours car, but could be ready to go with a weekend of work. Has current MSUK passport.
Engine: 2.01 Paul Gardener 190bhp Pinto, Twin Weber 45 Carburettors, dry sumped with boot mounted tank and braided hoses throughout. MSD Competiton ignition system and coil. Tony Law competition manifold and exhaust system. Alloy radiator with adjustable electric fan and Stant cap. Boot mounted breather tank. Twin throttle cables.
Transmission: Quaife 4 speed Pro box, just rebuilt. Atlas axle, rebuilt LSD unit and bearings. 4.6:1 CWP fitted, RACE competition half shafts. Alloy axle brace. Twin paddle competition clutch and hydraulic release bearing.
Brakes: Modern AP 4 pot open back callipers and vented discs on the front. AP 2 pot rear callipers. Bias pedal box and fly-off hydraulic handbrake.
Suspension and Steering: Bilstein Gp4 adjustable platform coil overs on front, Bilstein rear dampers, multi leaf slipper springs. Panhard rod, 4 linked with correct Mk1 short link boxes. Rose jointed adjustable TCAs. Roller top mounts. Electric power steering column with adjustable settings. OMP Steering wheel on quick release boss.
