1973 MK1 Ford Escort Mexico

Fully restored 1973 MK1 Ford Escort Mexico in Sebring red.

This rare car was built in the uk in the Ford Avo factory at Averly and exported to France. I purchased the car in 2015 from France as barn find with only 1 previous keeper and only showing around 28500 kilometers,that’s about 18000 uk miles. The car was totally original and was left untouched since 1979 it has all the correct parts including original Type 49 shell with matching engine number the original 1600 cross flow engine it has the big wing sump,2000e rocket box,standard air filter everything on the car as it was built with including Avo vin tag.

So the car is completely standard apart from engine rebore and valve guides for unleaded petrol when the engine was rebuilt. It was restored taking about 3 years to complete,it was finished in 2018. It has been to a Classic professional Bodywork specialist to have the panel work finished and a FULL bare metal re paint inside and out in the correct colour that it left the factory in November 1973 Sebring Red. The shell and paintwork cost in excess of £15000.00
