1972 Ford Capri with Range Rover 4.2 V8 Injection
Stunning Mk1 with Range Rover V8 Power; a very well-known car with an amazing spec; built by Russell Slatcher; 3. 9 litre lump re-bored to 4. 2 and rebuilt by JE Engineering Described in Classic Ford Magazine as the ‘Second Coming’ in their six-page full feature and front cover, this superb works replica started life as a Daytona yellow GT XLR which when acquired, was not in the rudest of health. Stripped to the bare bones, the shell was extensively repaired using multiple new panels. The inspiration was the works European GT Car as campaigned by Jackie Stewart in the early ’70s. To complete the look, a set of Fibres-Ports Cologne arches and duck-tail boot spoiler were added and a bonnet with power-bulge (naturally)…. Professionally painted white, with blue up the sides, hours were then spent masking and spraying to deliver the perfect RS3100 livery. The front suspension was built to adjustable race spec, including full rose joints and Bilstein front struts. The rear sits on single-leaf springs – polybushed of course and a rose-jointed Panhard Rod. The rear axle is a LSD unit from a 2. 8i with 2. 8i rear brakes and 185mm groved and vented discs at the front with four-pot calipers
